Thanks for visiting my page. That was so sweet of you after all the we've been through on this site. And there was me thinking you didn't care about or like me ... xoxoxo

As you saw, my facebook page is relatively new and its nice to see people are viewing it. We all have to start somewhere. Did you create your page with 1000 likes built into it?

Now for a that photo you mentioned ... a new photo ... one of a different car that I haven't photographed a thousand times before.

It's also only the 7th car I've ever rigged ... so I know I have a lot to learn ... I learn fast though.

I wasn't going to attach any more images or get involved after 'our last round', but as you mentioned me in one of your other arguments on this thread I thought it was only fair to all concerned that I joined in.

Now, back to why we are all here.

Definitely never shot a civic, or anything close. And even if I shot 100 different kinds of cheap cars, that is infinitely more difficult and challenging than rigging the same car 100 times.

Everyone, please, listen to me for a second.

I have gotten several concerned PM's about the banter back and forth, and I have to tell you all, it's not as serious as it sounds. In fact, I don't think any of us are being anywhere near serious, and in reality, if I were to meet Neil or Spkiey in real-life, we'd probably have a great laugh over it. People are passionate, and get caught-up, it happens.

Sorry for the disruption of the thread, I was only having a bit of fun.

Cheers,

-Andrew

In an attempt to get back to rig talk - when doing an actual rolling shot (with the car running and driving) what speed do you usually drive at? Nothing more than idle, 5mph, 10mph, etc...

I usually have the car turned off in neutral and have a friend or two push the car at a couple miles per hour so I'm probably not very helpful.

Other times with a shutter speed of 2-6 seconds maybe get up to something a little faster than walking speed.

I've experimented with shots at 10mph with engine on (maybe even faster) and the boom shake for me is a little too much. I've tried the same sort of thing with the engine off on a slope and have gotten lucky just using gravity sometimes.

this shot was 6 seconds at f/5.6 ISO100 and pushed...

Wait, rolling shot or rig shot?

If Rig: Pushing is best, but if your rig is capable, driving will work just as great!

I have a 1 or 2 more to edit but I'm not really sure in what direction to go with them...one's kinda cool because of some continuous lighting strips on the wall of a parking garage ramp created a "wall" of blue but I'm just waiting to get bit by a compass...

thanks for the compliment too, it means a lot to me! I follow your work closely I always look forward to your new shots!

I'm talking putting the rig on the car, camera on the end, starting the car up, throwing it drive, and off we go!!!

Not so sure about that. I find it really hard finding many new angles of places you can put a rig on the same car and still keep things interesting

After reading nearly every page on this thread I thought I best put my 1st attempts up.

Not overly happy with the one of my splitty - just seems flat. So I ordered a 6 stop ND filter and went out again to get the Z3 shot - much happier, although there's still room for improvement!

C&C welcome.
