I donated and have been using ML just for a short time. I'm still in learning mode. Heck all this video stuff is pretty new to me
My DP4 should be here tomorrow. I will be nice to not have to look at the back lcd to try and focus. Now I just need practice practice practice. Ken

That's one of the reason the DP4 will be great, your on the ground with a slider, you either lay on the dirt or water or bend, lean over that your in all sort of crazy looking position to pull focus. This will make it sooo much easier. Oh and you can use a long HDMI cable to see what your shooting and installed your monitor where it's eye level while the camera is 7feet tall. Ken- I'm using an article arm and tighten up really tight, my arm also is resting on it. The product I'm using to pull focus is two bottle opener which you can get at one of those store at bed, bath, and beyond something like that.

Ken- I forgot to mention that, installing the arm on the monopod is not that easy, I mod it. I'll take pics of the modification once I get home today.

I use those jar openers still even though I have a FF system. I just use them on the zoom rings now. Nice, cheap solution. Something like $2.48 at Bed, Bath & Beyond. The notches on the jar opener fit the notches on the zoom ring of the 24-70 2.8L and 70-200 f4L perfectly!

Aw man that was a low blow!
BUT, I do know what you mean, once I upgraded to the Redrock Micro microFollowFocus Blue version with the hard stops, I instantly knew why those make such a huge difference! I was amazed that Redrock was able to include hard stops and the rest of the high end build quality and features in the Blue version and still sell it so much cheaper then the next competing product with the same features!

I'm lucky to have a good day job that supports my hobby. As much as I like the Redrock FF I do have my limits and will probably be taking my 20% coupon to Bed, Bath & Beyond today

Well I have the day off today. I think my parrot is tired of being recorded, he gave me the wing
So far I really like the DP4. I'm still getting used to the focus assist and the false colors. I have a ways to go to get better with the false colors. It seems I tend to underexpose using false colors in place of the cameras metering system. Any helpful hints beyond practice practice practice ? Thanks
