nice grain, how did you do that?

I don't know. It wasn't intentional. It was taken in fairly low light at about 2500 ISO. There is grain in the original, but somehow in getting to flicker and then to here, it increased almost to an artifact mosaic....

thanks for the info! I guess this and the other workaround makes me a little less worried about the black focus point of the 1dx/5d3... gonna buy the 5d3 soon thanks to all the positive feedback! and nice shot btw!

Not to get off topic, I've heard something about the 5D3 having a weird way of using focus points vs say, a 1D3 (a friend of mine has both). Something about the 5D3 AF points not lighting up or something?

Stunning pictures all around. The quality of the work here has improved by leaps since the forum first opened years ago.

the focus points in the VF are black (as opposed to red and lit up on the older models), and therefore hard to see/use - so far I have not had any trouble using the focus points -

Oh that's a strange decision by Canon. How do you know which AF point is in use?

I have to check to make sure again - but I didn't have any trouble at all - and I was working in dark environment as well

LOL. Yeah, great trip. Even better that I caught a few of these! (Pics are blurry, but I was the one catching the sharks, not taking the pics) :)

Also caught some Tarpon which is strange that time of the year. (They migrate South towards the Keys)

Funny story behind this. My buddy was taking a piss off the side of the boat when he hooked the fish. He never had time to pull his shorts up. He caught it half naked. LOL

Here is his girl basically stripping off his shorts! Cracked me up
