How in the world do you get so many woody's to come by? They are around me but they are never ever in the open. Always hidden in the thick part of the trees and they never sit still. I have acorn and nuttal woody's around and see them every once in a while.

Thanks Mike, it was unusual for him to stay for so long and move to two different perches to eat, His entrance was pretty funny, he would pop his head out for a quick peek and duck back, did it about 7-8 times, then got closer and closer, good light, a good day.

Thanks jo, he really is beautiful, the light was real nice for the time about 12:30. I do like number three, that little corner of his eye lit up, pretty soft shot but I love the eye. Thanks again.

Thank You kindly Ken, I do love the closeups, exif says 8.7m, He was in a good mood that day, staying so long. I took a look at your website, some absolutely great work there, I love that yawning Snowy, the foggy shots and the Canyon shots with the stars are stunners, great stuff.

Thank You kindly! I have been in the same house for 25 years and have been feeding all my buddies for that long. Their favorite is C&S Orange flavored suet, I drill holes in the under side of a perch like this one, they will go there over a cage type every time. Also whole peanuts on a little board. Far easier to get them in the cold weather, they get real close and will eat a bunch of peanuts, every time they will come, grab one and fly out then come right back. Up until about two years ago, I was so close to getting a Downy to hand feed until the little b@stard that is next door got a bb gun, sad story but it changed all the birds, when I point at them I have to move slowly or they will spook, still ticks me off. It will always tick me off, I will never.....
