This is a really neat lens. I just picked this up for my full-frame setup now that there's a version with a removable hood. Here's one I took today...

Love that pic Amplee! How far away did you have to walk, to not be in the picture?

Still enjoying using the 8mm for landscape type stuff.

Neat shot! So what would this have looked like with the hood on?
How much was it by the way?

And did you add the softness to the borders of the circular image? Is it a clean circular image straight from your full frame camera?

So I've read that you can configure these lenses? Is that correct?

Configure what?

Calibrate? Or is it just not on the right aperture?

Didn't have to walk anywhere, just pointed up and took the shot. :)

And did you add the softness to the borders of the circular image? Is it a clean circular image straight from your full frame camera?

The hood on would look the same as the fixed hood version (kinda mustache-like vignette on top and bottom) on a full-frame camera. The lens was on sale, I believe it cost around $300 with the discount.

It's a hard circle, with blurry edges without post processing. I crop in to the edges of the circle and add vignetting with LR4 to give it more of a smooth transition.

Thanks again, I'll grab some more recent images...
