My lens walked away from home with my 5d MKII, my house got broken into so now I'm really mad and sad that th "KEG" is long gone.

I'll post some some pics of the day before it was stolen. Last photoshoot...

Sorry to hear about that. Might want to occasionally check http://www.stolencamerafinder.com/external link if you want to track down the perpetrator with your camera serial number...

Somewhat new to Canon....I'll contribute. @1.4
QUOTED IMAGE

Great shot. Beautiful model. I probably would have put her on the right side of the frame. For me, it just seems odd to have her facing that way on the left side. Maybe it's just me.

this is sick! she looks almost like a plastic doll!

I thought the same thing. Looks like a mannequin.

My lovely girlfriend with my lovely 85/1.2L

By the way, is that normal that focusing on the edge AF point make wrong focused pictures? When I do focus on the center and than move the camera for composition, it is completely right. When I set the composition and choose the most edge point, it is useless. Shame :( shot on 5D III

^Awesome shots!

I believe I read somewhere that the outer focus points on 5D 3 don't work well on certain lenses.

Try disabling the non-cross type AF points on your 5D III. BTW, very nice pics!

That's what I have selected - only AF cross points. Unfortunately few days after purchase 85mm and 5D III, it was needed to be sent to the service as it focused wrong (right for some distances, but wrong for long or very short distances. I could correct it in camera, but when I corrected it for the long distance objects, it was even worst for close objects).

They adjusted the lens as it should be alright now, but maybe this might be any kind of side effect as the 85 is not adjusted correctly? I'll need to do some tests and I presume that when I want to my money back they will argue that it had fallen to the ground or so.

focusing on the center AF or any other close AF point make everything just right.

I will probably keep the best of all (the center one) AF point. That's the most safe idea :-)

Btw. thanks to both of you. I'm glad you like those photos.

dastax - very nice shots!!
Just a question on the light sources used.
Did you use a snoot/narrow grid?
(I like the distinct line of light just in front of the boots)

What kind of light in front of the boots you mean? I can see the line of light on the snow behing the model (which I still do not know if it's a possitive or negative aspect)... there were two lights. Front left a 580EX with silver umbrella and back right (on the other side of the brook) single 580EX.
