So i just got my new rokinon 8mm fisheye, bought it used, the focus though... seems to do nothing is this normal? Like looking thru the view finder turning the focus ring from end to end does very little if anything noticeable...

At 8mm the depth of field is really wide, so that's normal. Use your magnification in live view to check your focus, generally with this lens though once you're above f/5.6 or so just about everything will be in focus

Cool thanks, i thought maybe it was broken... then i started thinking... hmm maybe this is why people shooting skateboard videos always use a fisheye lens, that way they never have to worry about it being in focus... But since i bought it used from B&H i figure if it was broken the sooner i reported it the better....
So far cool lens definitely not for all uses but i think it will work well for star trails and time lapse star videos~
Thanks again

^No problem ;) It's definitely a fun little lens, but now that I've gone full frame I'm not amazed by the results when cropped... I might sell mine and pick up the 14mm UWA instead.

I'm aware of this, but after cropping out the parts of the image the hood blocks the images are simply less pleasing to look at then they were with my T2i. They seem soft to me even at f/8. I don't use the lens enough anyway, I'm sure someone else would find better use of it ;)

Nice! I just walked by the sears tower this afternoon and I was kicking myself for not having this lens in my bag, I was thinking it could work for exactly this kind of setup.
