This past weekend was one for the ages here in El Paso. On Saturday morning they knocked down the ASARCO Smokestacks (seen here --> http://photography-on-the.net .../showthread.php?t=1292178)

Then on Sunday morning they imploded City Hall to make way for the new AAA Baseball stadium set to open in April 2014. Here is a 4 shot overview of it.

I actually used the burst mode, so I have many, many more from the sequence. I will see what I can put together tonight.

and Thanks!

It's obviously more important than local government! :D

If steroids are illegal for athletes, should PS be illegal for models?

Good sequence. It surprises me that it imploded into such a small area, not much spill over at all.

Haha my mistake, but I imagine Triple AAA would be a retirement league.

The demo engineers stated that because of the way the building was constructed (all 4 corners were where all the load was), that made it easier to have it fall into itself. Plus the south side (left side in pics), has the railroad line right next to it so they had it configured to fall just like cutting down a tree so nothing would spill over to the rails.

Triple A is the highest of the minor leagues. Major League teams have these farm teams to help develop players. For example The Chicago Cubs minor league affiliates are:

AAA Iowa Cubs
AA Tennessee Smokies
Adv A Daytona Cubs
A Kane County Cougars
Short Season A Boise Hawks

The higher the A, the more ready for the majors you are.

Right now, The Diablos aren't even affiliated with a Major League team, they are in an independent league. The Diablos used to be an affiliate of the D-Backs, but that franchise moved to Missouri. Someone resurrected the Diablos name, and joined a independent league.

I really would have liked to have stashed my Gopro somewhere close! That would be some sweet footage.
