FWIW, I agree with Maddy333. There really is no interesting subject, and a crooked horizon is a photo killer in most instances. You have nice leading lines, but as maddy said, they lead to nothing. The birds could have been an interesting subject, but they are too far away to matter. The photo is also somewhat cluttered.
If you're not looking for a single person's opinion of a photo, don't post it in this thread, start a new thread for that photo. You have to remember, you're only getting one opinion on your photo when you post it here, and if the person rating your photo loves macro, and you post a great portrait, it isn't going to get the rating you're hoping for. Whereas if you posted a mediocre macro, you might get that 9-10 from that critiquer (sic).
I don't look at this thread as a learning tool for that reason. It's a fun thread, and IMO, nothing more. AA or HCB would probably get a low score here, as you have to remember that most who post here have little experience, and are in the learning stages.
Don't take this thread seriously is what I'm saying. Occasionally there is a good critiquing, but usually (IMHO), the critique is lacking as much as the photo. Go back and read all the critiques, and you'll see that this thread not really what it was meant to be.

Good points all, especially the "consider the source" hint.
I wasn't trying to rebuke a rating; only pointing out that there is every variety of yardstick here. I do prefer the harsh ones; when they're right.
I do seriously want to know what's good/bad; and if someone hates something so much to hand out a 3 or 4 then that's worth knowing.
