:D Brown truck came while we were at dinner, yeah. Charging the batteries now so we can play with it tomorrow.
I do have one question; how do you check for firmware version? Haven't found anything in the manual on firmware.

Thanks,
Craig

One of the menu options shows the version number.

Edit:- take it back confusing EOS-M with my 6d.

It's in the menu, but only if you aren't in the green Auto mode dial position.

Here's a high quality Nikon 1 AH-N1000 strap I found at target in the clearance section for only $3 (marked down from $20). I also saw them on eBay for $5-7. It's very high quality leather, but the design is a bit feminine if you ask me. They only had Red and White.

(and man, my phone camera sucks)

Had a company lunch in a nice restaurant and EOS-M with 22mm f2 worked so much better compared to iPhones.

Yep. I tried to get by with my Droid's camera when I upgraded to it (since that was one of it's prominent features at the time), but that didn't do it for me... then I bought a Nikon P300 and it cut it for a while, but I always desired more. Now that I have the M, I'm happy with every shot I take out and about

I contribute a large part of that to the 22mm STM lens, it blows me away how nice it is for how cheap it is!

It's a very nice camera for what it is. Sharpness is there but do any of you find the .raw files once imported to LR a bit dark or underexposed even though the histogram says differently?

^Try changing the Lightroom camera calibration presets default (On the bottom side of the "Develop" toolbar) to "Camera Standard" or one of the other settings. I use camera standard since it's usually the closest representation of how it looks on the back of the camera's LCD. On my 6D files I find "Camera Neutral" to be more accurate though.

Okay, found the firmware version 2.02 which I think is the latest update. Found you have to be out of the green box (thanks for the tip) and in one of the creative modes (M, Av, TV) then more options pop up.

Thanks again,
Craig

Yes, if the profile in LR matches what was used in camera it should be closer.
Although we shoot raw what we see on the LCD is based on the picture style set in camera, so it makes since to mirror that in LR, just as a starting point.

Hi all, what settings are you using on your M? Just noticed that your photos are vivid and sharper unlike the one i'm getting... Are your NR set to off? Do you PP them before posting? :)

These are the two wrist straps i own (both brought for my 5DMKIII).

Ill probably put the first one on the M, as the other one is still on my 5DMKIII. It felt strange having the M hanging in front of my chest last night. I never use this type of neck strap, i much prefer the Black Rapid type, but after noticing all the settings changing randomly yesterday i think ill stick to a hand strpa from now on.

Tough day at the office with the new EF-M 11-22 lens :D
For anyone interested, LR5 does NOT yet have a profile for this new lens, so the shots here are left as-is with the vignetting and CA (virtually zero) from a direct RAW conversion. Some vignetting at 11mm, but nothing that LR can't cope with. The lens is damn sharp even wide open.

Not ideal shooting condition with harsh raking summer sun, but hopefully will give you an idea. Exif data should be intact on all shots, but I have concentrated on the 11mm end as that's what we buy an UWA for surely...

...and I know I shouldn't post more, but I'm sure you all want to see some examples with this new EF-M lens, so here are 2 more.
Colour rendering is excellent - all of these shots are basic very low-level sharpening in LR5, and no added vibrance or saturation, just LR5 sharpening for screen (medium) on export - and no polarizer either, even though some may look like it!
A Hoya pro-1 fits fine without mechanical vignette at 11mm, but I can't vouch for a standard thickness UV as I don't have a 55mm standard filter to try.

Fantastic shots. This lens looks tempting, and this is from someone who doesn't really care for wide lenses.
