Did some re edit on this image. Not a lot difference from the first one but I think I like this better from the original.

I did some perfect effects 8 plug in I played with clarity, brightness, contrast just little bit.
Now that you mentioned that I realized I could have done the same thing with Clarity slider in LR.

What I used was the detail adjusment brush over the focus areas of the pic some contrast and mild sharpness.

No I did not cropped alot. I was surprised too. They are normally in their favorite spot like you said about 100 ft.
