Wow - love the first one.

Where was this? I was recently in Sabah and went to the Kinabatangan and Sepilok santuary.
Kinabatangan was great to see a couple of Orangutans in the wild - but so sad to see the extent of deforestation (that leads to you being able to see them so frequently).

1st image is lovely - how far away were you from them? and what lens/focal length did you used to capture the images?

I was in Sabah also, in Kota Kinabalu. All the orangutans were either orphans or rescues looked after by the hotel. Apparently they get sent elsewhere when they're older for re-habilitation back into the wild. It seemed a bit weird that a hotel cares for orphaned Orangs but I got to know the staff pretty well and they all seemed genuine about their efforts towards helping the apes out. The hotel bordered with the rainforest.

This is Bern, one of the animal workers with Tenten :)

I was using 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS with 2x Extender. For the adults I was probably 20-30 feet away but the babies I was able to get pretty close. Shot at around 400mm for adults and around 300mm for the infants.
