Steve, I have to agree with you on Rafael's winner; it is awesome. Nice entries from all. I had to go with the chocolate because I no longer have kids here for Easter & we go to one of our adult kids home for Easter celebrations now. :) Thanks for 2nd place which is truly the coveted place here... :):) Congrats to teekay as well. I loved it!

Congratulations, Rafael, on a truly winning shot, and Maureen's eggs are certainly mouth-watering enough for second place. Thanks for the #3 spot, Spoco - I loved the expression on that girl's face, too.

Raven, if I ever had a dog that looked so reproachfully at me I'd have taken those ears off right away. And Jim's ham looks so much like some horrible face of flesh that I'd have left the table right away - or am I the only one with a twisted imagination?

All in all a fun challenge:)

LOL, teekay.... I agree with you about the face in the ham :)
Steve, I am glad you liked my shot but I am also glad I did not get 1st place :) I have been up to my eyeballs in editing from recent wedding shoots, newborn shoots & an Easter egg hunt yesterday :)

Congratulations Maureen and teekay I'm honored to share with you the top places.
The easter eggs are for me a known tradition, so I enjoyed your photos with no need for questions.

I hope to hear more about the Easter ham and the tulips and omelettes. Nice pictures of (for me) less known traditions.

The humor with the Easter poodle was a good addition for these serious days :) .

I liked marie's Saint Mark glass too. Living in a religious city I see his importance in the Good Friday.

Thank you Spoco57 for the comments an the first place. A most interesting theme for people like me that live in a city with many Holy Week / Easter traditions.

With the Spanish conquest, the new inhabitants of our lands also imposed religion and culture that have prevailed to these days.
The Good Friday procession in Quito has many elements of the celebration of the Holy Week in Seville, Spain, but also new elements contributed by the natives from the very beginning.

My picture is a group of 'Veronicas' the woman remembered in the sixth station as the one who wiped the face of Jesus on his way to the Calvary.

Another important group of people in the procession are the 'Cucuruchos', penitents wearing long conical hats... More on this later, after announcing the theme for the new challenge.

LOL. Actually, he's quite the happy pooch but normally has this forlorn look about him. He's quite used to little kids climbing all over him. So I think you could put a tutu on him and he'd be fine. :-)
