I just sold my 7D, now do I wait for the BIG announcement in August and see if a 7 Mach II arrives and will it be full frame or do I just go for the 6d or 5D III?

Part of me wants to be patient and the other half can't wait till August and then have to wait again till it hits the stores.

Seems unlikely it'll be full frame -- canon already has 3 full frame cameras, 2 of which have better AF systems than the 7D. I cant see them bringing it in between the 5D and 1DX - they're already pretty close spec-wise, and if it comes in below the 5D, why wait for it?

Makes more sense for it to stay crop, probably with 5D AF system and higher frame rate. If thats what you need then wait, but if you want FF then get the 5D

7d2 will NOT be full frame. Canon has never changed the sensor size on a series; the 1dx is a new series uniting the 1d and 1ds

So it will be the 7Dx :lol::lol:
More seriously imagine in August the "big" announcement is about new printers like 3D printers, or EOS cinema or new camcorder so you had waited for nothing ...
Go ahead with the 5D3 if you have money, it's a wonderful camera

Get a 5d3 if you want 35mm digital sized sensor.

Have you no camera at all now then?

Even if there is a big announcement on August the 1st & if it contains info in a 7D2 it ain't gonna be in the shops on August the 2nd ;)

More than likely you'll be waiting ages for nothing .......

If you have the cash go the the 5DIII, If not go for the 6D. I just picked up the 6D and love it, but if I had the cash I would have gone for the 5. In any event the 7DII will likely come out with the 100-400LII -> "On or About" who knows? Don't hold your breath, enjoy what you have now.

I had the cash put aside for the 7D2 but I decided (with a little help {read: push} from a few POTN regs) to buy a 70D. This way, I'm not pining for the announcement... then the wait for the release date... then the additional wait for the cameras to hit the stores. Then the 6 month wait for the real results to be reported back from the field, etc. etc. etc. You get the picture.

I hope the 7D2 becomes a reality. I'll probably buy one a year or so after it's been in the field.
