yes this is nice to no, e-bay !hmmm, i was wondering because i got a canon tc-80n3 timer remote off e-bay two months ago,and its not working,can't use the interval at all! only thing it will do is shutter release,no time laps photos, it come from (china) so no warranty, i though i would save some cash, also im reading alot about e-bays rip off's ,so thanks for the heads up.....

It's IR. That means it's restricted to line of sight and that it won't be as effective in bright light, and distance will fall off rapidly. Not a lot they can do about that; building a radio remote into the camera would greatly increase the costs of getting the camera approved for sale and use in every country of the world.
