Edit: later today or over the weekend, I'll pull out the 120-300+2x TC, Tamron 150-600 & Sigma 150-600 and take some photos down the street to compare IQ.. Keep in mind that I haven't done any micro adjustments so it may not be an accurate test.

How do you find the general lens performance (not just IQ) against the Sigma 120-300 w/ TCs? Like can you feel it's much snappier and accurate not hobbled by them?
To me, I've always felt that the 120-300 sports + 2x tc has always lacked something.. The keeper rate was always low, the AF was slower/less accurate and IQ dropped of substantially compared to when the TC wasn't used. Yesterdays first test was quite promising and it felt really good.. The AF felt really quick, didn't hunt like the tamron does, and kept it in focus.. I don't know how you'd go with handholding it.. Once extended it becomes a very long, heavy lens.. the 300 wasn't nearly as long and much more handholdable..

Thanks for the post.lovely shots here......did you shoot @ f6.3 or f8...??
also loved the colours......any edit done other than light and sharpening adjustments ...??
I shot some at f8 but they came out underexposed so have had to brighten them up in LR, shots at 6.3 were fine.. I've still yet to go back at analyse what I shot and to do a pixel peep at what apertures gave the best IQ.. It's probably more my lack of not changing iso/shutter speeds that produced poor f8 results..

Vladdo did you shoot any shots of aircraft in flight at any lower shutter speeds utilising the OS? I generally like to limit my shutter speed to 1/160 on prop aircraft.
I've never been able to accurately achieve satisfactory results with low shutter speeds.. I realise it's possible but for whatever reason, i can never seem to get sharp pics.. so, these days I just don't bother.. I realise it doesn't look as nice but for me, i can't seem to do it.. even on a tripod..
