I was looking for the "permalink" to one posting and not only to one picture. After some clicking I found it that when clicking on the status-title (under the membername) of the member you get a new screen were on the right top is the "permalink" to the specific posting.

There is much more on that new screen so just have a peek.

Yes, a lot of the photo hosting sites strip the exif when you embed anything other than the "original" file. flickr does, ipernity does too. This is why I always upload the maximum allowed image size at POTN, which is now 1280px on the long side. That way I can choose the original but resized file (1280px Original) and have the exif intact. If I choose 1280px Large, it will strip the exif too. They really insist that you embed the "original" file.

Here is an original file from my XSi taken in 2010 at Yellowstone NP

How do I read the EXIF data from this photo?

EDIT: Found out my own answer :-)

The AMASS histogram works well on this.

AMASS has an Easter egg in lightbox mode that show a histogram when found.

I am embarrassed to say I was on the Beta team, but I do not know how to make the histogram work

It's like in the old times, you can't (bump spam prevention).

Wait.... The old forum showed the posts in the order they originated. However, you could sort by the last post to get the last replies to any older thread. The way bumping was fixed was to force the initial load to sort by creation date desc (not by last reply date), but users could resort after the initial load to sort by last reply date. I did that alot to see latest updates to sale threads. Basically, this allowed the user to be in charge of whether they wanted to see "bumping" or not.

So how does the Best of Gallery work?

I assume somebody(s) has to pick them unless Pekka also route some crazy algorithm like flickr uses for explore.

In the old forum the "Last Post" header was a hyperlink - it would sort by newest post / reply at the top - it no longer is a hyperlink -

I won't be doing those order choices now. Too much to do now.

I think currently Pekka selects stuff that is visually appealing for the awards.
