I just stopped at Conowingo Dam In Maryland for one day on my way south. The forecast made me happy...."mostly sunny". The reality was "almost enough light to see". The first part of the day, it was cloudy and dark...unfortunate, as there was a fair bit of activity.....that's the first 3 shots. When I went back in the afternoon, it was more sunny, briefly, until the sun set behind the trees at about 3 pm. Shots 4-8 show what a difference the brighter light makes.

I'd say you did pretty well, Ian. I was there two days ago and the activity and light were both missing. These are great shots. Thanks for sharing.

All I want is just a little more than I'll ever have.

Ian, as I have been saying, you know how to talk to the eagles and make them pose for you (look at #6, for example). I have been to Conowingo several times, but, as a general rules, they prefer to hang around the far side of the river rather than coming over to pose for me.

Very well done. Enjoy your southern vacation.

Thanks Phil, I always find it tough shooting there. Still a fun spot though.

Many thanks, Linh. They sure do prefer the far side, and when they do venture closer, it's always quick.

I'm in awe. Fantastic captures. The one where the eagle is looking askance if my favorite.

Great set Ian, but what stood out the most was..."SOUTH!"

I'm almost there, Sandy, but today through North Carolina it was snow showering! Tomorrow will get me to Englewood, Florida, for a month.

Via Texas! ;-)a And #6-"What? Where?" (Couldn't resist.) That is some great shooting, Ian. Even "The catch." in the poor light. And good for you heading south-our departure keeps getting pushed back.
