Wow, Col, these are fantastic - one would never know the ISO was at 10k! I especially like the female blackbird (No 1) and No 4 of the squirrel. I've been doing some landscapes - who is to say that's not allowed? (Many, I'm sure!) I never thought I'd say this but I reckon my 70-200 II may be redundant now.

I am thinking along those lines as well....I will pick up my one week rental on Thursday. Good timing too. Practice session this weekend for the Daytona 24 race.

Cheers.

Guess I better get my duck in here. ;)
Straight from camera(7d II) with nothing done. Just grabbed with CAMranger, as I have no Internet here.
Birdbath was frozen and covered with latest snow but she didn't seem to mind.

Out shooting BIF with the 100-400 II the last couple of days. 1st day with 5D3, 2nd day with the 7D2. Both bodies did fine for BIF, but I now prefer the 7D2.

I have both as well, but the 7D2 and this lens is a really great portable BIF combo, with or without the TC.

Just wonder if I can use Kirk LP-59 Replacement Foot for Canon 300mm f/2.8 IS II USM Lens to replace 100-400 II regular feet?

I'm really liking this lens paired with the 7D Mark II.

A foolproof method for sculpting an elephant: first, get a huge block of marble, then you chip away everything that doesn't look like an elephant.

I agree 100%. This is a 100% (1920X1280) crop using a 1.4TC at 560mm of a white-tailed kite that I watched dive into the grass and come out with a kill. Even with the TC on and f8 centerpoint only auto-focus, it still works like a champ!

I was out in the storms yesterday watching the seabirds enjoying themselves. The light was poor so I had to push the ISO a bit.
