Just going through my images from 2014 and posting the ones that I didn't have time to edit -and deleting the ones that will never make it into editing ;)

Found this solitary bee semi-dormant in one of my pumpkin flowers. I took this shot as it was doing pre-flight maintenance. Last year I went looking for lethargic subjects and shot them as they were waking up and it really paid off.

Tech Specs: Canon 1D Mark III (F14, 1/250, ISO 100) + a Canon MPE-65mm macro lens (@2.5x) + a diffused MT-24EX. This is a single, uncropped, frame taken hand held.

I found this carpenter bee dormant on one of my sunflowers. It didn't take much coaxing to get the critter to climb onto my finger and feed on some honey. I took a lot of frames looking for different compositions and trying different angles.

Tech Specs: Canon 1D Mark III (F14, 1/250, ISO 100) + a Canon MPE-65mm macro lens (3x) + a diffused MT-24EX. This is a single, uncropped, frame taken hand held. I am the finger model.
