Next time I go to the in-laws', I'm bringing a few cans of enamel paints to satisfy this ungodly urge I have to cover the grey color parts of the gate.

It looks a tricky paint job to me with all that filigree work. I'd leave it, if I were you. ;-)a Impressive gates - mine are just simple wooden ranch-style.

Really.. ? Just because you don't like it? Might be an "in-law" now, but painting the gate, could result with you being an ex-in-law. I know if you was my son-in-law, and tried that, you'd be escorted off the property in bracelets.
