Thanks Josh for the information. Every one loves a mature with catch but I like the juvenile just as much-they need to eat too :)

Impressive imagery. We chose owls in Quebec this winter but next winter I'm all over L&D 14 :)
Will 400mm + 1.4 TC be enough?

That's more than what I've been shooting with.

^thanks again.
Now to save me from an hour of reading (though I can see I do need to not only read but study this entire thread); for next year is it always L&D40 or is there a network of folks that let you know
which lock and dam they are congregating at ahead of time.

The eagles are at most of the dams on the Mississippi. There is a website that does head counts, I'm sure it's linked in this thread. 14 seems to be the most popular because of where the eagle do their fishing and how close you can get to that spot since it's right off the parking lot.

Are the eagles still at L/D 14? I'm guessing yes since it is still very cold there...any hands on in the last few days?

I stopped by on Sunday. There are a handful still there but the population is way down from a month ago. Not worth it for me to go since there are more closer to home.

Peter our tickets are already bought for Moline.....but I think we're actually scheduled to be there in January. I'll double check the dates when I see my she-ruler, she's got them in her pad.

Has anybody checked to see if they actually cut down the two dead trees that the eagles roosted in.

Quick, city council erect two large metal trees, make them roost friendly.
