OMG Gus you did it!!! A Tiger JESUS scares me looking! Ivebeen semi close to mambas but all they want to do is flee. Everything I've read about Tigers says they are aggressive and will hunt you down :( Beautiful ospreys as well. I really live in a lame part of the world.
Thanks Jeff. I'm already scheming a trip to Amherst Island for next winter.....how far is that from you?

Yep, just for you too.
Actually I saw a total of 4 Tigers yesterday morning, managed to only get photo's of 2 of them though. I got up and went out early and as the morning was unseasonly cool the snakes were a lot more lethargic than normal.
I actually got some tips for finding them from a guy I met out in the woods, he goes out specifically to photograph snakes, and guess what he's from New York! He's married to a Canadian vet who's working over here.
So it seems that not all Yankees are sceeeered of serpents hahaha :p
Man, what a great day today with the Ospreys, big smile on the dial :-)

Cheers
Gus

I don't know why folks keep showing images of birds and wildlife, this camera is for kids and grandkids.

Sometimes aren't they one and the same?

Cheers

K Soze,

I love the low angle you used.

Very nicely done. Thanks for taking the time to share it with us.

Unless you in the biz you'd be surprised to see the similarities in dosing between the very young and very old.

Wow! Gus and Kester and Soze, some great photos!

Gus, how do you find the croppability with the 7dII and the 100-400II? Do you retain enough detail?

Gus, showed Poof (my she-ruler of the cosmos) the Tiger--she kept focusing on the ospreys!
Anyway here is the last from Montreal, not perfect but I didn't pay any guide three grand either :) I guess I could have done some 'magic' in CS6 but truth is I wasn't fast enough and clipped the
the wings--luckily though I'd taken the teleconverter off a few minutes before. Next trip lands us in Lima and Cuzco and wont even be taking an EOS body, for it I'll be toting a GH4 and a couple of Sony bodies all in an effort to save weight and me thinking more landscape than wildlife. Regardless, for an amateur I was pleased overall with what I got done while in Quebec. This one with the 400 DO ii-

Many of my shots are cropped to some degree, I think it's a common thing to do with wildlife shooting anyway as getting the framing right every time with fast moving animals is tough, multiply that with my slow reflexes and good framing SOOC is nigh on impossible
I have been amazed at how much detail the combo are able to resolve and retain in cropping, especially in good light so some days are better than others.

Nice shot Robert, good to see the 400 DO II got some love too. Those are sweet shots of Owls. Glad Poof likes the Ospreys, I'm still smiling.

Cheers
Gus
