These are really nice.

I'm curious though...I see that 'arc' in a lot of milky way shots on here. What creates that effect? Not sure if I like it or not...even though it looks great. But how is that done?

The MW is a straight line, but we are viewing it most often when it is not directly above. So it appears as an arc, this is a very wide field of view..

When it is directly overhead it looks more like this.

Beautiful series of photos - stunning really. How is it that NZ not only gets some of the most beautiful landscape but the most beautiful sky as well -?

Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful work Rob!!! Makes me proud to be a Kiwi!

Why good night shots? . . . because we are isolated, and not many people - so not many cities - so not a lot of light pollution.

And because we have awesome photographers like Rob!

Beautiful images. Hard to make a decision on which I like best but I think maybe #2. Sky views are spectacular. We never see the Milky Way in such detail here

The Kelp at the beach is a wonderful photograph and stirs up fantastic memories of peace and magic on the shores of NZ, thanks
