Heck we can't even hit 10K anymore. LOL.

It used to take 2 weeks... now it's over a year? :)

I'm so out of touch--when it comes to Canon gear--that I wasn't even aware of the 100-400 II until two days ago. The last year, the only posts I contributed were in the 2am thread. I've been pretty content just fiddling around with my e-mount crap.

Guess I can't recommend this monitor. Didn't even last two weeks.

Ouch. You sure it's the monitor and not the GPU and/or drivers? Also, is it hooked up via HDMI? Could be a bad handshake.

Yikes, that is rough. At least you can sell it to Harvey Dent.

I presume it's under warranty and didn't just fall off a potato truck.

Same results with my iMac (Thunderbolt) and PC (Displayport).

When I bought the 40" Samsung for my PC's, I decided on the $75 warranty. After a month, it developed a vertical purple line down one edge of the display. They replaced the panel. I think it was an open box deal and I paid cash. Was very glad I shelled out the extra $75 as it was past the return period. If it had been new and not discounted, I probably wouldn't have bothered.

Also had to have the panel replaced in the 46" for the living room within the first month. Not sure if I have bad luck or that these things get flung around like bean bags in transit.

If you ever run into the pixel line thing again it may not be a faulty monitor but what has been described to me as a stuck pixel. My parents bought a 65 inch Samsung TV that developed a red single pixel line across the top of the screen within the first month of use. When I told a friend of mine that works in tech support about the problem and that we were going to have to return the set he told me to try this http://www.jscreenfix.com/index.html (external link) first. I hooked a laptop up and ran the program and voila no line of red pixels. Still working great over a year later.

Then I bought a used monitor from B&H around christmas, and when it appeared it looked absolutely brand new. It still had the protective plastic all over the case and stand. I plugged it up and there was another line of pixles running vertically down the left side of the screen. I figure this was either a monitor they sold that was returned because of the defect or a floor model that had the defect so they sold it as used. I ran that same program and the line dissapeared and has been gone ever since. I ended up getting the monitor for a $150 discount.

It won't fix dead pixels but it has fixed all of my recent monitor woes quite nicely.

I'll probably buy the extra insurance next time. Asus is suppose to be releasing a 120hz 1440p IPS panel soon. I think I may wait for that.
