Another huge thanks to PhotoHunter :) I didn't even know what a Snowy Egret looked like, what a beautiful bird.

Very nice Robert, they look like fantastic subjects to photograph, lovely plumage too.

On the other hand though, thought you were fed up with all things snow? :p:lol::lol:

Cheers
Gus

You are quite welcome kind Sir! And, having been known to work for beer in the past, I'll definitely take you up on that offer the next time y'all come to town. I just wish the weather would have been a little better for you.

I currently have a 6D & a 7D2...while the 7D2 is great, the IQ of the 6D, especially in low-light, is tough to beat. As long as you can survive with the limited FPS and focal points, it's a great deal, especially at current prices....

You could sell the 7D2, pocket the difference, and keep your 70D for video/focal length related issues.

When commenting on the "IQ" comparing sensors of different sizes, I think it is very important to distinguish full-res IQ and equal-crop IQs. The 7D2 has more resolution and slightly better noise quality, and about the same quantity, when you take a 1.6x crop from the 6D. So, for a person who is focal-length-limited in their most noise-critical shooting, it is a huge mistake, IMO, to buy a 6D for "better IQ", because it only has better IQ when you utilize the FULL frame and are able to go outside the realm of equivalence (IOW, use a DOF shallower at a given FOV than is possible on a crop camera).

We have those egrets by us too. The biggest problem I had was that the trees had too many branches for a clear shot. But what a clearing you got! Great shots!

Mr. Sheehy, I actually understood your last comment on crops/the 6D and the 7Dii....maybe there is hope for me after all.
Gus you're right I'd had enough bad weather but not so much snow as rain. It's ironical that where i live is a temperate rain forest...you've seen the beautiful lush green photos of Great Smoky Mountains Nat.Park..well that's my environment and for it to be beautiful and green well duh on the rain part. It's just sometimes it gets monotonous....more kudos to you on the Tiger, man that has got to be a thrill. My next 'thrill' possibility is Catamount and I'll def. put in the time and after a lot of research I know where to invest the time but the odds are still so very small. Hey! I just bought a new rain jacket HA! Just in case it rains there--now what irony upon irony-I'm purposefully going to rain hell; I'm even laughing at myself.
Anyway, another from the nest (and against glorious blue)-
