Had the subject put on a blanket as his robe and stand on a ladder over the pool. Set the camera on a tripod with a wireless remote trigger. Had strobes outside the frame with CTO gels on either side. Had a thick cotton rope (which had been soaking in some lamp fuel) which I hung on a boom pole and lit on fire and walked around my model.

Yes I agree, I think the hardest part is that the fire burns really bright and I had to move fast to keep it from over exposing. I think the image would be more realistic looking if I had more distance between the model and the fire. It was an experiment, which I learned a lot. Thanks for the feedback, I will try it again some time.
