Ok, don't throw tomatoes for this uninspired, seemingly random image. It's my first (and only so far) test shot with the Sigma 150-600 DG OS HSM Sport lens that I just picked up. I could only get one quick shot in before a torrential downpour started. This is a 100% crop of an image taken at 600mm, wide open, at about 40 feet away. The light was poor and wind was moving the plants, so I had to bump up the ISO to get a fast enough shutter speed to freeze the movement.

I was EXTREMELY nervous dropping money on this lens, because I wasn't sure how it would play with the 70D, but man am I impressed. This was straight out of the box, no MFA. It locked focus incredibly fast, and I can't believe how sharp it is wide open at 600mm. Can't wait til the weather breaks to give a full run down.

Wow - I see what you mean. I imagine it's pretty heavy to hold?

On another forum someone wants to upgrade their lightroom - was it here that the link to buy the one off upgrade, rather than pay subs was shown?

Thanks

It's okay I found the link.

Thanks, everyone!! And yes, Rose, it's heavy! I will be making much use of the old monopod with this lens. I can shoot handheld all day with the 400L, I won't last 5 minutes with this thing.
