No, its angle of incidence, the reflection is coming from ambient and the lights above the counter

Even for a quick real estate listing I would have fixed the stove towels, hid the paper towel, removed the cross emblem on the bar stool side, removed shoes on the floor near the door, moved baskets from the coffee table, and I would have tried to include the whole base of the island in the composition. Its also missing the sharpness I like to see.

Trying to understand speed lite location and reflections.

It's not speedlite. It's just pure reflection of picture frames on a polished granite counter. The wall in which the frames are hung are probably illuminated by the wide angle wall wash in the ceiling.

two things jumped out at me right away...the ruffled hand towels on the stove handle...and the roll of paper towels...

They are distracting, but not the end of the world - they can be corrected and banished, respectively, in Photoshop with relative ease. While at it, I'd also clone out or tone down the pentagonal bright spot on the floor made by direct sunlight.

If it's in focus, it's pornography, if it's out of focus, it's art.

And here's a wide angle shot that was obviously (poorly) perspective corrected lol...from an extreme correction to a very extreme correction.

Gorgeous design work by your friend's company! They deserve better composed shots (like paying attention to verticals).
