I have two PCs with Photoshop CC 2015 on them and this is happening on only one of them.

When I make a selection with the rectangular marquee tool and then modify it, the selection becomes subdivided into what may be slices. Instead of one selection, it's a whole grid of selections. I don't want this.

Does anyone know why it's doing this and how to turn it off?

Thank you,
Scott

Okay, here is what I am talking about.

Select all (looks normal):

Now if I make any changes to the selection (like dragging it), it changes to this:

Why is it doing this? How to I make it stop?

Thank you,
Scott

I'm not sure but I would look at two places to see if they are different on the two computers.

1. In your preferences under Guides, Grid & Slices
2. View menu, if Extras is checked, what is included in the "Show" menu item directly beneath it

One thing you could try is to Upload Settings from the computer without the issue and then on the other computer Download Settings.

Oh, this is easy. Just go to Edit>Preferences>Performance, and click on the "Advanced" button. Change the Drawing Mode to Basic, then restart your computer.

If that still doesn't help, go back to Performance, and uncheck the "Graphics Processor" checkbox altogether. Restart again.

That took care of it. Thank you!
