I am interested to know what lens you have, or how its mounted.

Leica didn't make a SLR till 1964, and the M and LTM mount lenses won't focus to infinity mounted on a DSLR (they sit too far away from the film plane/sensor)
an enlarger lens wouldn't focus either.

or is it an M or LTM lens in an adapter, and it just doesn't focus past a metre or so ?

My Leica that I took this lens off of is my III F red dial rangefinder which I've owned for over 45 years now.
The adapter is a simple 39mm thread to Canon EOS which I purchased from an E Bay site.
I cannot retract the lens without damaging the Canon and the focus is very limited which makes it all the more challenging and at the same time, rewarding. The Canon EOS line of cameras is almost perfect for testing "what if" ideas since so many adapters are out there.

This photo was taken thru the lantern housing glass with only ambient lighting

Thank you for the interest and comments.
