Estonia? If so yes. I just saw a post from her yesterday after a long absence from POTN

Cool. I remember her pictures of Tallinn. We visited there when we went on a Baltic cruise. Beautiful city and she posted great photos of it. :-)

How do I send nifty an invite? Does nifty have an assistant that can pass the message along?
I am finally going to start shooting again once I get my camera this week!

All the Nifties are with people who don't seem to be using them or forwarding them to the next person on the list at the moment.
To take a turn, you copy the list and add yourself to the bottom of the list for your country.
The US has two Nifties, but there is quite a long list of people waiting.

Levina de Ruijter wrote in post #17647131 (external link)
How about an update of the list?

At present we would like anyone wishing to host have at least a 200 post count or have been active on POTN for a year. Hopefully this will reduce the number of people that do not participate in a timely manner, or "forget" to move Nifty on to the next host, or simply don't care.

To sign up to be a host, please copy the list completely, add your name to the bottom of the sub-list that is your area of the world, paste the entire list into a new post with your name added..

Actually I have no idea where the Canadian nifty is. Photorider said they would mail it in mid July, but I have never received it, and they haven't replied to my PMs.

This is annoying. This thread should be kept alive by people who have nifty posting photos. Instead it is only kept alive by the rest of us asking where nifty is.
This isn't just a thread to ship Nifty around, you gotta post photos too!

It would appear that some people think this was a nice opportunity to get themselves a 50/1.8 for naught...

It is a real shame as these have been donated to do the rounds. If i manage to sell my 24-70 and get my 50 1.2 i will be donating my 1.8 to the cause.

Just to cheer you all up, I've processed a couple more Gromit's from one of the Nifty visits!

This one is called Antique Rose designed by Cath Kidston. It sold for £30,000 in the auction!

This Gromit is called Roger and was designed by Richard Williams. It sold for £29,000 at the auction.
It was starting to go dark when we found this one.

This Gromit was in the garden of a pub called the Beaufort Arms in Hawkesbury Upton. It was dark when we got there and I had to use flash for it.
Designed by Marie Simpson and sold for £23,000 in the auction.

Thank you very much Levina! I will get them all processed in the end!!

This one is called Two Eds Are Better Than One. It's a political satire which will be understood better by the Brits as it depicts Ed Miliband who was the Labour leader at the time.
The designer was Peter Brookes who is a cartoonist in The Times newspaper. It sold for £23,000 in the auction.

I think if these Nifties get moving again a valid phone number should be included with the transfer info or Joayne should get all of the phone numbers from everyone on the list. That way the people who are holding on to these would get a phone call or two to get these things moving along. Or, to save on any international rates, someone in each country where these are floating around should be in charge of contacting the people in their country. This is crazy, it's a $100 lens. It's not gold. Get these out of your bags and get them moving!

Nice shots BTW Clare!

I agree. At least there should be some sure way of contacting people. It shouldn't take this long to receive, shoot, upload images and send it off to the next location. When you sign up for nifty you know the rhythm that is expected. Nifty wants to be out in shoots; fast, wide open and proud; sharp and bokehlicious, basking in light like a dog in a car with its head happily out the window....grinning.

We're all busy with life but nobody forced nifty on you.
There should be an oath: "I solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will receive and take care of nifty. I shall take nifty on as many shoots as possible or practical. The well being of nifty is my responsibility. I shall leave communication lines open for the sake of nifty's parents. I shall update nifty's parents by posting images of nifty's work and/or images OF nifty. I shall update the board (nifty's family) with information about nifty's whereabouts in the event that photos are not forthcoming due to weather or illness or other life altering event.
I shall contact the next host to ensure they are ready for nifty. I shall remind them off this oath known as the nifty fifty oathy. I shall always remember that when someone asks me 'where is nifty' my photographs on this thread should answer that question. Period. Dot. Full stop. So help me canon god."

Who has nifty and where are the photos? Someone please call the hostage negotiators.
