I've been bouncing back and forth between posting sets of images and random shots.

Image taken at the Butterfly House in Collodi, Italy.

Tech Specs: Canon 70D (F16, 1/250, ISO 200) + a Canon EF-S 60mm macro lens with 37mm of extension + a diffused MT-24EX with head "A" set as the key and head "B" as the fill. This is a single, uncropped, frame taken hand held.

This critter was perched on the side of a rotting banana while feeding on it. I just braced the camera on the tree stump that the feeding dish was on and used that dish for the background.

I found this Lynx spider hunting in my Lavender.

Tech Specs: Canon 70D (F11, 1/60, ISO 200) + a Canon EF-S 60mm macro lens with 37mm of extension + a diffused MT-24EX with head "A" set as the key and head "B" as the fill. This is a single, uncropped, frame taken hand held.

Technique: I had the camera setup for using natural light for the background and forgot to change the settings. Nothing special really, just used an artificial flower to keep the background from being black.

I had no idea that these True Bugs (Hemiptera) hatch at this time of the year.

Tech Specs: Canon 70D (F11, 1/60, ISO 100) + a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens (2x) + a diffused MT-24EX (flash head "A" set as the key on a Kaiser Adjustable Flash Shoe and "B" as the fill). This is a single, uncropped, frame taken hand held.

Technique: I held onto the plant stem with my left index finger and thumb and rested the lens on that same hand to keep everything steady. Also dragged the shutter to expose for the sky.
