When we did the tour, there was someone with a microphone telling us all about the places we passed. I remember we asked questions and the man would answer them. It was great fun. But apparently things have changed. What a pity.

That's what happened in other places we visited. Some of them were very good. The one in Amsterdam was terrible - and expensive!

That's too bad, Clare. :-(
There are quite a few companies doing these tours though, so let's hope this one was the odd exception.
Maybe write a bad review about them?

Trip Advisor and Yelp are your friends when traveling!

Just coming back from a driving trip, someone tried to charge us double for a service we used,
when i felt I was losing the fight, I shrugged and said, Well, I just have to mention this on Trip Advisor ...
The charged was promptly corrected!

Removed myself, getting into the dark (winter/fall) season and have stuff to do and don't want to delay or miss a notification in case one of the U.S. Nifty lenses resurface. I'll still stay subscribed to the thread as motivation and inspiration, thank you to those who post images and keep this thread alive.

At present we would like anyone wishing to host have at least a 200 post count or have been active on POTN for a year. Hopefully this will reduce the number of people that do not participate in a timely manner, or "forget" to move Nifty on to the next host, or simply don't care.

* Though, this doesn't seem to alter the fact that people tend to forget to send Nifty on and tend to post very little... with some exceptions!

To sign up to be a host, please copy the list completely, add your name to the bottom of the sub-list that is your area of the world, paste the entire list into a new post with your name added..

I'll try and process the series I took at Westonbirt Arboretum in the next few days.
Here's the first one.

Here's a few more that I was part way through processing. All taken in Westonbirt Arboretum which was orginally planted by a very rich Victorian family who made a vast fortune supplying fresh water to London by canal.

They don't produce fruit here much as it isn't normally warm enough.

The Giant Redwood tree is nowhere near as old as many in their natural habitat, but it will be around 140 years old.
