Recently(and I mean within last two months), I became interested in abstract photography. This is my very limited collection so far! Please share your own works and suggest a technique or a subject that works well for this type of genre of art.

Some were digital and others were films....

An image might not qualify as abstract if it has recognizable objects. I don't know whether any single definition of abstraction is widely accepted; most likely, critics disagree. When I'm out shooting with Urban Fragments and similar threads in mind, I pay attention to composition, regardless of whether you'll be able to tell what's in the picture.

Then you are just shooting stuff at macro distance....:) Abstract, conceptual, without any clear meaning or story...dominated by lines and placement of objects, recognizable or not.

to my understanding, abstract photography uses colors, patterns and random forms to create non-figurative images without connection to the real world.... but I am not an expert as I am just diving into this world. I'd say that clock is a bit out of place, but all other shots are great. I especially love the sand patterns.

Show me a beach with a clock.... I thought conceptually the clock shots are a bit surreal. :)

This one...again, I don't believe you have to shoot stuff at macro distance to render the shot abstract.

I agree. There are many methods... macro is just one of them. architecture, bokeh, light painting... speaking of... I shot this just about an hour ago

Taken with a very old compact. Not even a high res pic but I was quite intrigued by these patterns left by tiny crabs. This pattern measures no more than 10 x 10 cm size in reality.

I also shot this at the same time... would you say this is abstract or more surreal type of photography...

I wouldn't say it's either one. It's a still life. Juxtaposing objects that aren't usually found together doesn't make an image abstract.
