So true! Actually this was a test shot for light spread, and i liked the movement in the photograph. The B&W just seemed to fit.

Dude, Really?

This makes me think of an orchestra tuning up.

Not really sure what I'm doing here among such outstanding picutres. People obviously seems to know what they are doing.
I think this is a portrait. Its in B&W. That's a start.

Geez.! I need to get a camera like that.
If it will make my wife look that good, I'll have 2.

This is a nice photo, I like the light and mood in it. What could have made it better is that the woman looked out to the window and to the light, like dreaming of a trip she is planning, or alternatively looked straight at the lens.

For a start you nailed it. There more to B&W than desaturation of color, and everyone here is learning just like you. Keep posting!

Thanks Pekka.
That's my wife there. I would never suggest for her to do anything, let alone disturb her reading. She's from Manchester, you see and without lifting her head one millimeter she would tell me to F off.
I'm inclined never to disturb what catches my eye as well. Who am I to alter coincidence for the sake of a 'better' photo?

Cheers
