Canon 100 2.8 Macro (non L), 50 1.8 and believe it or not I still use a kit lens 18-55 when a dog is a rough dog one who likes to play while being photographed, figure if it takes a hard hit and breaks its not a big loss. I'm just moving into pet photography part time.

Since the majority of my pet photos take place underwater, it's the trusty 14L for me.

I'm Preston & I pretend to know what I'm doing but I really just wing it.

However, I have done some decent work with the 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens:

I use the 70-200mm f/4L IS outdoors for larger dogs...

I like the 24-105 f4L IS in the studio and a 70-200 2.8 II outdoors.

Shooter from the 'dark side' here, but 85mm f/1.8 is my staple at the moment:

'Arri', R.I.P. My sister's pure bred German working Rottweiler. Sadly passed away a couple of weeks ago due to a heart problem. Probably the most beautiful Rottweiler I've ever seen.

Sometimes use the Sigma 120-300 f/2.8 for tight shots and the Sigma 24-105 f/4 is on my shopping list at the moment.
