I love this shot! Did you backlight the pepper? I love the glow!

Thank you. I used a longer exposure to get some natural light on the seeds at the top and then manually popped a flash behind the flesh of the pepper on the left side.

I just got myself this sigma macro lens christmas just gone

I think it's an awesome lens

Feels really well built, finds focus quickly and does produce some lovely shots

It is quite heavy aswell, so the ball head on my tripod does struggle a little to hold that weight, food for thought and all

Would recommend though

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

Date

- 2 images stacked in PS @ F8
- I'm experimenting with the auto-align and then auto-blend Layers to see how well it works
- think i want to use this, if I can get it to work well, with ring shots this upcoming wedding season

Use a tripod and don't take to many more than 20 or so shots. You can take as many shots as you want. But it's likely to cause PS to crash if you take to many. I tried once over 100 to see what would happen. My computer couldn't handle it! I've had no issues with PS stacking images if the frame numbers are within reason. This was 18 frames stacked. Then given the B&W touch I see no aberrations!

Thanks.

Might be my machine, top of line MacBook Pro, but it didn't like 5 A7RII files - so far no issue with 3 5dsr files.

Thanks for comments

the size of the files might make a difference too. I know the more megapixels = larger file sizes = slower comp performance. Something to consider.
