POTN G-series Speed Challenge #577 - Seeing Sound

This week we'll be combining two of our senses; sight and hearing.
What I'm looking for is being able to look at something and then know or deduce what sound to expect. For example, if I was looking at a bell at rest, I would hear nothing. But if that bell was in the middle of a swing, I'd expect to soon hear a bong/clang sound.
It might require a little thought and imagination but it shouldn't be too difficult. Just don't overthink it. And have some fun :-).

**********
Results:

Thanks, everyone, for all the excellent entries this week.

JimAskew: A Cacophony of Cabs - Love the perspective on this shot. I can hear the horns honking and drivers yelling. A scene I've seen in NYC many times.

Trumper: The Sound of a Merlin - The prop blur says it all; you'd better have ear protection on when standing next to this beauty. I know from experience.

teekay: The Sound of Silence - Beautiful shot, especially with the B&W. Should be hanging on a wall. A little more quiet than I was looking for but I get it :-)

Maureen: Bubbling Fountain - One of my favorite sounds. I really like how the water forms at the top of the fountain. Nice shot.

M_Six: Tick, tick, tick - I was hoping there would be a watch/clock in the mix this week. Good focus. Nicely shot.

Just whistle - The Sound of Music - Nicely shot. I like your DOF on this shot. Wish I still had my turntable and vinyl collection. Analog rules!!

Spoco57: Snap. Crackle. Pop. - It took me a second to zero in on what this was at first. Some electric insect?! What an awesome firework. You really nailed the focus!

I think it goes without saying that any of these photos could be in the top three spots. Definitely one of the harder groups I've judged.
Suffice it to say it was really tough singling out the winners as they are all so close.
But.........

1st Place: Trumper - The Sound of a Merlin. Because, it made my ears bleed. :-)
2nd Place: Maureen - Bubbling Fountain
3rd Place: Jim Askew - A Cacophony of Cabs
4th Place: Everyone else (not kidding)

Thanks again for the great turnout. Nice to see it becoming a regular thing again.
And welcome to the party, Mark. Hope to see you back here again.

It's all yours, Gary.

Congratulations Maureen, Trumper and Jim and everyone else with easily imagined sounds!

Yes, Raven, ear protection would be a good idea when near Merlins! Having spent some time flying between two just a few feet away on each side of an uninsulated cockpit, that's why I now need hearing aids.:-(

Thanks for this very fun challenge, Jim! I worked hard thinking about what to photograph for it & when I realized that fountains are one of my fave noises, I tried a few variations before entering my final choice. This fountain is in my front entry way & with screen door I can enjoy it all year round.

Congrats to Trumper & Jim A. for their winning shots but seriously, I thought every entry was amazing this week. Thanks for my favorite 2nd place.:-)
