Both are fantastic! Really great use of 24mm focal length.

I finished up work early so I went out in the backyard for a little while in the rain. Just screwing around with a [far too bright] off-camera 580II in a plastic bag.

This type of shot is perfect for the 24. I'd like to see a portrait with your daughter engaging the lens and someone else filling the frame with bubbles.

Yup will do. Honestly the 24 only comes out for these types of shots. For me. I want that closeness blurry look. It's why I own it.

Also... You absolutely should never ever crop a 24. You ruin its perspective imho.

I sometimes think about adding this lens to my kit. Does anyone in here notice a lot of IQ difference between the 24 vs the 35 and 50? I absolutely love the 35 but I know this lens is not as sharp. But does it feel like a 35 art companion?

I've got both. The both have that special something about them. The major IQ that I notice is the vignetting wide open, because wow, the reviews were not kidding. It's not as sharp, but it's still really sharp and I like having both. 24 is definitely wider than 35 and both have their roles.

Uhm... therefore - say - a 35mm always has a "ruined perspective" !? :p
