After his first early morning appearance in which he scampered away as soon as I got the camera to my eye, I was blessed with an encore by this juvenile heron. FINALLY, I get to have an interesting bird land directly in front of me! SUCH a good time shooting, this is an opportunity I have been waiting a long time for!
He sat there for so long that I was able to experiment with settings; IS on/off, with and without the 1.4xIII extender, faster and slower shutter speeds to slow rain. By far, best IQ is from the bare 100-400 on the 80D, w/ IS. I couldn't hand hold that rig very well at such low shutter speeds
