Congratulations to Darkslinger and thanks to Voaky for encouraging me to shoot some panoramas, which I seldom do.

Previously I had shot panoramas mainly RAW with a 60D, developing in LR, then exporting to TIFFs and stitching the panoramas with Panavue - altogether quite a pain. This time I tried the SCN panorama mode in my FZ1000 and found to my amazement that the resulting JPEG, SOOC with no pp, matched anything I could do with my 60D using the much longer process.

Nevertheless, I still find most panoramas when resized for web use are quite boring, for example my original marina panorama here:

But when I squeezed it to fit max POTN requirement it turned into something almost surreal and printable even if it didn't win, so thank you again, Voaky, for leading me to try something different

Thank you Don, much appreciated. I thought all the images were great and, for the record teekay, I don't think your original image is at all boring!

New competition is up here: http://photography-on-the.net .../showthread.php?t=1464616
