Thanks, I've gotten the most odd feedback from that photo. My harshest critics absolutely love it, while the the general public doesn't care. One of the few photos that I posted on FB and literally 2 likes, a record low by a wide margin. On other social media, it invokes a lot of discussion but like count very low :-)

Creating by committee is, in my opinion, creative suicide. I believe if everyone likes an image you should probably rethink it. It means everyone gets it and because everyone likes it, everyone understand it. That means it is usually a very SAFE image. Safe is not where I want to be. Safe images are usually obvious (as Weston would say) or nouns. No real staying power because one looks at, immediately gets it and moves on; no need to stay with it any longer. Better work usually has things that keep you coming back and when you do you get more. Those images usually work on a deeper not so immediate level. So don't think because something that is popular it is good. That shouldn't be the barometer. Remember Threes Company was the most popular show on TV.

Don't let FB like discourage you. Who knows how many people even saw it. The FB algorithms are really funky.

I actually took a few shots, it was for a photo contest thread based on the theme "curves". I just like the first one better due to the opposing positions of the spoons and forks to create opposing shadows. I wish I had a more square looking fork, my goal was to make two dimensional items have 3d shadows.

Cool idea and well executed. I was going to attempt the same but I couldn't find my triggers for my flash. I tried a regular light with the barn doors but my shadows were really fuzzy probably because of the lack of light. Maybe I'll try again when I find my triggers.

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.
