Finally some different subject matter - went on a little roadie for a break. Over to Taupo, then up to Whakatane. With the Sigma 18 - 35 ....

Taupo rainbow.

Lake Rotama scenic reserve - absolutely pelting down, so stuck camera out the window, then fretted it might be damaged as it was so wet. On the road from Rotorua to Whakatane - lots of lakes and bays along the road, but too wet to stop really.

Canon EOS 70D: added a Canon M5: A mixture of Canon, Sigma, Tamron and Tokina prime and zoom lenses, a Samyang fisheye, and just for fun a couple of Helios 44-2 58m..

Haven't heard the term 'pelted' in a while....we certainly live it often here in the mountains but lately its been 'broil' :(

The rainbow was a bonus on a dreary day weather wise.

Two years ago when I went to Whakatane to collect my new dog, a teensy puppy, it rained so hard in the same area I was down to driving about 40kph! Not quite so bad this time ߘ

Glad you're broiling - bit cool here, and house very cold after being away two nights. Brrrr.

Autumn weather here - in August! Very windy, showers, chilly, low heavy clouds. Such is the English summer. Had to shoot at ISO 500. Not turned out too badly, though, I think.

Great perspective.

Many thanks. It's taken me a while to find that spot, and there is a big electric cable in the way which has to be avoided, too.

Awesome - almost looks like tilt-shift effect. Looked like a toy until I saw the realistic side vegetation. You got a keeper here buddy ;-)a

One more from Whakatane. The trees to the left are called pohutukawa and flower in summer, otherwise known as the NZ Christmas tree. They tend to hug the sea shore, and look great along the beaches growing in some unimaginable places sometimes. Looking from Whakatane Heads up river.
