I'm away from home for the holday weekend, so I cannot find and post shots from the Tokina 11-16mm as examples. I can state that while there has been some comments about the Tokina 11-16mm being somewhat prone to flare from the sun, I can state that during our recent 3 weeks in the Czech Republic I have never had a shot with that lens exhibiting flare, and I didn't even bring the lens hood for that lens!

any pictures by ride5000 http://photography-on-the.net/forum/member.php?m=130740 on this thread are taken on a 5d, they will give you a good idea of this lens on ff
@ 11mm you will pretty much have a circle in the middle with your picture, and blackness all around, from about 14mm its good

at a low iso (100) using a 1d mark iin can i comfortably shoot f/8 or even f/11 without vignette or other issues? or do i need to stay in the 5.6 to 8 range and increase shutter speed?

The lens filters in the black case.....he made it very clear he was keeping those so he can go shooting around the neighborhood. clearly i no longer own them.

tokina 11-16 at 16mm, flash fired, bounced off ceiling

testing this lens. i like it

How high (low) can you push the aperture. Does the aperture have a sweet spot? I do long exposures and looking for city lights to have a nice pointed star effect. I took some long exposures I think at f/11 and they didn't come out well. Not sure of its the aperture i used or errors on my part

You will only be able to go to 15-16 without hitting the sensor on a 5DIII FF, should be the same for the 1D series, as it is also FF

Get the 16-35 f4, the 17-40 is hit or miss as to finding a good copy. I happen to have a great copy of 17-40
