Spent the weekend at the cabin and enjoyed NOT 3 days of monsoon rain, last day, the day we have to leave a shot from the front yard. Nothing special, just playing with the EOS 28-300. I'm waiting on a 70-300L to get here but for do-it-all everything carry the 28-300 is nice, well except for the weight :)

The distance traveled by the cork in the first two images may be indicative of the camera's speed at that moment.

Don't you love that lens! It is among my chosen three for a minimal setup with the 1DXii, along
with the 16-35/4, the 24-70/4 and a 1.4TCiii. Between what the 100-400ii and the 24-70/4 can
do macro-wise for me there is no reason to tote a separate macro lens.

I regret that this is about as good as I can muster of the Milky Way in the confines of Los Angeles County.

Not bad not bad at all based on the light pollution I think you have there. At least you get to try; we had 9 straight days of rain :(
