Nice to see the 24-105II kit to be full retail price no discounted kit price.

Also nice to see the vertical expanded AF from the 1dxII

what kind of price drop can we expect on (used) 16-35 mk II once the mk III is released? substantial? I've never followed price drops of lenses/cameras but now that im in the market im closely watching and waiting for the release

I suspect not much drop on the used market. I'd be willing to bet some will offload for 800-1000 which isn't far off of the current pricing on these things. The new one will be 2200 and will maintain that price for the first 3 months before we see anything budge. The 11-24 just over a year later still the bottom end is 2300 for that lens. So considering the particular lens... expect not much change at all.

Cheers to those of you that are pre-ordering. I did the same with the 5D3 when it was announced and have had zero regrets on that purchase. Hoping the 5D4 has the same longevity, though I think I'll hold off a bit before I upgrade.

What do they use? 5D/D800 level?

yep.

Tons of D800, D800E, etc.

Myself and two others I know that shoot Canon are 5dIII philes. Most are with Nikon.

Motorsports, Sports or the like "Pro" would lean towards more of the 1D line. However as said weddings and the like the 5D shines hard!

I think the point that Talley made earlier, which I happen to agree with, is that pros often aren't the ones with the nicest, latest and greatest gear. If money were no object I'd be happy to rock two 1DX Mark II's at a wedding (or the original),but that would cost me almost half a dozen weddings gross revenue just to afford those even with no other business costs such as taxes and paying second shooters. At some point enough is enough and those who shoot week after week stop paying attention to the latest and greatest when what they have gives them the results they want and the choice of putting new brakes in the truck vs getting the shiny new camera seems like a fools errand. Just how I'm seeing things in my tribe.

haven't Canon (well really any OEM) grips always been really expensive?

I'm reading the specs and not seeing anything about dynamic range. Anybody know if there's another stop or two of DR in the base ISO?

They've always been a lot more than off-brands but I've owned grips for the 5D and 5D3 and thought they were under $300.
