I declined mine yesterday, shop had one put aside for me mostly because I haven't sold the last two of my EF lenses & I don't want to be using a brand new camera at work. Guess I'll have to wait till next month so until then looking forward to seeing photos on here.

I'll have to say I've been brainstorming about my gear.I think I'll be buying the new Fuji flash and more Fuji lenses before the X-T2. The old 16 megapixel camera isn't really a big drawback when image quality is concerned.

Just purchased a brand-new Canon 80d and a new sigma 18-35 f1.8.

I had to put my priorities in gear. And for sports action I have my canon gear as well as my Fuji gear for portrait.

Looking forward to see the excited Fuji owners of this new camera

For someone contemplating moving to Fuji, why are you going to pass?

FedEx truck passed slowly down the street. My heart skipped a beat and I thought "IT'S HERE!". But alas he went to the neighbors house with a delivery of wine. Time to visit my neighbor!

Just a guy with a camera trying to capture life one moment at a time.

Maybe he didn't like the feel in his hands. I handled the X-T1 in a camera store about 2 weeks before I made the decision. I liked it a lot. May not be for everyone though.

Fuji is still my secondary system. If I was pushed to sell all my canon gear suddenly I would try the Fuji system as a primary.

With a full frame camera with incredible F2 .8 zooms i can achieve almost prime lens look while shooting an event with a killer 24-70Lmk2 zoom. The fuji 16-55 f/2.8 would still have less 3d "pop" due to the physical size of the crop sensor.

If I had all the money in the world I'd buy 2 x X-T2's right now and more fuji lenses.

For once in my life I'm less of a gear whore :) and seriously attempting to be very specific in the gear I own that suites my "style".

I'm kinda sick to my stomach that I'll have to fork out about 2850 bucks for a Canon 16-35 f/2.8 mk3. Canon Canada prices are ridiculous at the moment!!

That X-T2 had my name on it.....I walked away sullen :( I would benefit more buying a couple new fuji flashes and more lenses. Later I can shift towards a pair of X-T2.

At this moment in time I can be thrown into any situation with my Canon gear and have a comfort zone I can fall back on. With fuji I will need to chew a couple of nails and adapt ........

I have alot of time to grow into my fuji gear. I have pretty well all I need to do what I need to do with my canon gear.

I was just about to say that I'm in the process of writing my first ever blog post all about how I had been blinded into the "full frame" look hype for years and how it's honestly a distraction for most photographers. There's WAY more to what makes an image "pop" than it's DOF, even a lens with technically wider DOF can have a more pleasing and less distracting background (my Rokinon 58/1.4 vs my Helios 58/2 is a clear example).

It's a shame that so many of us get so caught up in it instead of focusing on what matters, taking pictures. I've finally realized that I'm far better off using a system I truly enjoy instead of worrying about chasing the absolute best possible image quality and "full frame" look.

Waiting for Lensrentals to have it in stock. I rented an XE-1 when all of the hype was out about Fuji when it came out and I didn't like it. It felt hollow and slow. Really slowed me down in a bad way. After hearing "it slows you down and makes you think about the photo" I was like, "no, it gets in the way by being so slow!". It sat on my coffee table almost the entire weekend, no desire to use it.

Had no interest in Fuji other than liking seeing them come up and put up a fight with the big boys. I was shooting an event and met a guy with an XT1 and played with it a little, I was actually impressed. Felt solid and light. Hated the Dpad and didn't like the lack of touchscreen but other than that, I was actually curious again. But this Xt2 has my interest peaked!

Only cameras that have actually MADE me interested in the past 4 yrs: Samsung NX1 (owned), D500 (first Nikon ever to interest me), XT2 (looking like a real win for Fuji) :)

Jeff nice pics......

No doubt you can get pop from decreasing the subject/camera distance to get that type of 3d pop with a crop sensor.

Another discussion entirely but I can get aprox the same look with f/4 with a full frame. Here's the thing I can achieve my desired looking starbust from my remote flashes at f4 (stopping down 1 stop with f/2.8 zoom) increasing more sharpness to the image overall. I've not tried this type of work with my canon 80D or fuji crop sensors.

$1200 bucks canadian for a 16-55 is pretty decent. Considering the Canon 24-70L mk2 is $2350. This makes the fuji a cheap bargain for the quality of fuji glass you get. Same goes for my cheaper $999 fuji 16mm f/1.4 to my $1950 (current cdn price) prime. The 10-24mm f/4 is $999 compared to the Canon 16-35mm mk3 for $2850CDN.

Don't get me wrong.....if you haven't noticed I own fuji. As far a paid workflow is concerned the full frame is filled with pros/cons. Just my particular style the familiarity of my FF gear just works for me.

The only way I could ever go full fuji for my events photography and gear I would need an f/2.8 UWA zoom and bare minimum a pair of X-T2 or x-pro2 bodies, 2-3 EF-X500 flash units and whatever current lenses that jive with my style. Even with the current fuji gear I can shoot with a 10-24mm, 56mm and 16mm, Macro lens with two X-T2 bodies but I would want HSS/TTL (EF-X500).

High ISO isn't a concern with fuji. The dof from the canon 24-70L f/2.8mk2 is remarkable with a Canon FF. The thing about Crop is that I'm appreciating the safer thick dof of f/2.8 so you dont get soft blurry people in a group shot.

If I was jumping into buying a lot of gear Fuji would be much more economical now vs Nikon/Canon Full frame with pro lenses.

Considering I've just purchased fuji recently I'm already getting a feel of what I need for my application as a secondary system. I have no doubt in my mind I can buy 2x X-T2 bodies and have two potent camera systems. The logic in me decided to decline on the X-T2 that was in my hands this afternoon. This opens up the opportunity for more glass and flash units to take care of other categories of photography.

BrickR,

I urge you to test/buy the X-T2 or Xpro2. Even my X-T10 or X-E2 with 4.01 firmware couldn't meet my needs in fast AF for my events photography. With even my older DSLR I would be able to acquire faster AF much faster and high hit rate than my fuji gear. This is a comparison of my "current" fuji gear vs my "current" Canon gear.

A good example was documenting a kids birthday party activities or my worst frustration was a kids easter egg hunt. The Fuji bodies I owned failed me in a higher percentage of miss rate. I'd rather cull an image when it's bad composition rather than droopy closing eyelids which I get more often with the fuji gear. I've lately spoken to a lot of local fuji shooters that own both DSLR and fuji describing the identical frustration. Mind you they all owned the older 16mpx bodies and not the xpro2 and obviously no X-T2 just yet.

I say try it!!! :)
