Great series, Renata.
This one caught my eye for another reason. ;-)a Funny though that it was taken at 50mm!

Thanks Levina. I just fixed it.
The 50mm focal length was my sorting tool and it never occurred to me that I could have shot at exactly 50mm with the brick :)

LOL. I had a feeling it would be something like that! What are the odds, eh?

ENifty here!

It's almost the weekend again and I haven't posted last weekend's photos yet. Ooops.

In the summer and good weather Mam tries to get up a hill every week, so hope you are not getting fed up of the hill photos. I'm skipping Saturday as it was a wash - I'll explain in another post but we had a fantastic day out on Sunday. We did a 14km walk with 750m of ascent and the start was from the Pass which is so close to home.

Just after starting out - you can see the road above us on the right side.

Without going into too much detail, we walked around the base of a hill and walked up the back as the front is a cliff similar to the ones you see in the photo above - but higher. Once we got to the ridge we were looking over to Plockton and Duncraig Castle from a previous post (the castle is bang-slap in the centre of the photo). The ship is called the Hebridean Princess and provides high-end cruises around the west of Scotland and further afield. The small circular items bottom right belong to a fish farm.

This is a pano of multiple images and is the view from the top of the cliff mentioned above. You can see the road winding up the corrie (valley). Our goal was to walk all the way along the ridge on the left to the very top, down to the road and then walk back down to the car - which is what we did!

Looking back to the cliff-face where we had been. There was a partial rainbow but we didn't get a drop of rain!

From the highest point looking down the corrie (valley). The car is parked half way down the road.

Walking back down the road, you can see the cliff in profile. There were a couple of red deer stags munching away in the late evening sun. Mam was trying to get them both to look up at the same time but no luck. They are fairly used to people looking at them!

Mam's in a bit of a rush so got to sign off. More soon!

Some spectacular shots in there, Annie. Love that rainbow. And some really nice light in a number of shots. And of course the landscape never ceases to amaze me.

Annie. As long as you keep posting photos of those wonderful landscapes, you should be able to keep that lens as long as you need. ;) Great shots!!!

Beautiful shots coming from both nifties. I love the contrast between the two. Renata, the urban landscape and sculptures are wonderful. Contrasted with the raw natural beauty that you are sharing with us Annie is fantastic. The rainbow photo is beautiful. Growing up near the Canadian Rockies I have always had a passion for the mountainscape.

The drive from Vancouver to Whistler gave me a chance to take nifty from the architectures of the city to the pure beauty of the coastal mountains of British Columbia. Here is a few more shots from the drive as I head out of the city. The first is from the same lookout that the motorcyclist. The second is from a lookout overlooking Tantalus Mountain and it's glaciers

I made several stops along the way. One was to take what I hoped to be a quick hike up to Garibaldi lake which turned out to be 9 km each way up a mountain and that didn't fit into my timeline coming home. The other was a short hike to Brandywine Falls. I am finding that nifty is a fun exercise in composite pictures as I show him the sites of the mountains. Just north of Whistler is a small community called Pemberton, which has become popular over the last few years for a music festival(pembertonmusicfestival.com). As I drove through the rural community I stumbled upon these cute little guys way off in the field. There is a mom and three cubs hidden in amongst the grasses in this field.

What a view you have here, Trever. Powerful landscape. Born and raised in a totally flat country, mountains like that always intimidate me and when in them, I'm never very comfortable. But they do look spectacular. I agree with you about the contrasting images from all the different hosts. Quite fascinating.

Love the waterfall too. And who said you can't do wildlife with a Nifty?!

Wonderful scenery, Trever. Like you, I love the mountains - we call them hills here as they are not so high (and we are Scottish!) - but most of ours start at sea level so ascent is usually about the same to get to the top. Did Nifty take any images at Garibaldi Lake?
