Out with the 70d and Sigma 150-600mm today. Managed to capture this butterfly at Mahoney State Park between Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska.

Just been in France and I got up very early one morning to try to capture sunbeams and sheep. The sunbeams were reasonably co-operative - the sheep were not!

These are from a local area gifted to the people of Havelock North. I need to actually find out just how large the area is - there's lots of different tracks. I did a loop which takes about an hour. It's very hilly so I struggled, as most of my walking is on the flat - but I really enjoyed the change, and so did my dog. There's an added bonus that it's dog friendly, which means they're allowed off the leash provided they're under control. I can't really claim that as my dog is everyone's best friend and he jumps up!

The redwoods area - well one of them really, as there's lots more on Te Mata peak, which you can walk to from here, if you are fit and adventurous. Oh, and I know there's flare - I like it, and shot for it
